TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Moshi to Mkubwa Camp (2,780m)

Your Kilimanjaro adventure begins! A morning transfer takes you to Londorossi Gate (2,250m) for registration. A scenic drive through dense rainforest leads to your starting point. Today’s trek is a moderately steep climb through unspoiled forest to Mkubwa Camp (2,780m). Keep an eye out for wildlife – you’ll be accompanied by an armed ranger for the first two days.

Day 2: Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp 2 (3,900m)

The trail winds through the rainforest, gradually thinning as you ascend into heath and moorland. Erica and lobelia dominate this unique landscape. Crossing the Shira Ridge offers stunning views. A lunch stop at Shira Camp 1 provides a chance to admire Mount Meru and the Rift Valley. A final climb brings you to Shira Camp 2, your home for the night.

Day 3: Shira Camp 2 to Barranco Camp (3,960m)

Today’s trek involves a significant altitude gain to Lava Tower (4,640m) before descending to Barranco Camp (3,960m). This acclimatization strategy helps your body adjust to the altitude. The trail traverses the beautiful Barranco Valley, known for its unique flora. Barranco Camp is often considered the most scenic on Kilimanjaro.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,035m)

A steep climb past the Barranco Wall leads you to the Karanga Valley. The trail then connects with the Mweka Trail, bringing you to Karanga Camp. This shorter trek allows for rest and preparation for the summit push.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,640m)

Today’s trek takes you to Barafu Camp, completing the South Circuit and offering diverse perspectives of the summit. This is your base camp for the final ascent. Enjoy dinner and prepare for the challenging night ahead.

Day 6: Summit Day! Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Mweka Camp (3,080m)

An early wake-up call (11:00 pm!) and a light snack fuel your 5km trek to the summit. This is the most demanding day, with temperatures ranging from -5°C to -10°C. The trail winds through scree fields, offering breathtaking views of Rebmann and Ratzel Glaciers. Witness a magnificent sunrise at Stella’s Point (5,672m). Finally, reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa! After photos and celebration, descend to Barafu Camp for a rest before continuing to Mweka Camp.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,630m) to Moshi

A final descent to Mweka Gate brings you to lower elevations, where the terrain can be wet and muddy. Collect your summit certificates! A short walk to Mweka Village and a transfer back to your hotel in Moshi mark the end of your incredible Kilimanjaro journey.

Kilimanjaro: A silent giant, a majestic peak. It stands as a testament to the power of dreams, a challenge whispered on the wind. Reaching its summit demands strength, resilience, and unwavering belief. But the view from the top? A breathtaking panorama of achievement, a reminder that even the highest goals are within reach with courage and determination. Let Kilimanjaro inspire you to climb your own mountains, whatever they may be.
