TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Moshi to Mkubwa Camp (2,780m)

Your Kilimanjaro adventure begins! A morning transfer takes you to Londorossi Gate (2,250m) for registration. From there, a drive through lush rainforest leads to your starting point. Today’s trek is a moderately steep climb through the enchanting forest to Mkubwa Camp (2,780m). Keep an eye out for wildlife – you’ll be accompanied by an armed ranger for the first two days.

Day 2: Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp 2 (3,900m)

The trail continues through the rainforest, gradually transitioning to heath and moorland. Erica and lobelia dot the landscape as you enter Kilimanjaro’s third climate zone. Cross the Shira Ridge and enjoy lunch with breathtaking views of Mount Meru and the Rift Valley. A final ascent brings you to Shira Camp 2 (3,900m).

Day 3: Shira Camp 2 to Barranco Camp (3,960m)

A significant altitude gain awaits as you trek towards Lava Tower (4,640m). This acclimatization climb helps your body adjust to the altitude. The trail traverses the stunning Barranco Valley, showcasing unique flora. Your reward? Reaching Barranco Camp, often considered the most beautiful campsite on Kilimanjaro.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,035m)

Conquer the Barranco Wall and continue along a steep ridge to the Karanga Valley campsite. This shorter trekking day allows for rest and preparation for the summit push. Karanga Camp (4,035m) offers stunning views and a chance to acclimatize further.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,640m)

Today’s trek takes you to Barafu Camp (4,640m), completing the South Circuit and offering diverse perspectives of the summit. Settle in, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the most challenging day – summit day! Mawenzi and Kibo stand majestically in view.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Mweka Camp (3,080m)

The big day! A pre-dawn start fuels your 5km trek to the summit. Witness a breathtaking sunrise at Stella’s Point (5,672m) as the snow-covered landscape transforms into gold and silver. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa! Celebrate your achievement with photos and soak in the incredible views. Descend to Barafu Camp for a rest before continuing to Mweka Camp (3,080m). The changing scenery, from icy landscapes to lush vegetation, makes the descent as memorable as the ascent.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi

The final descent! Trek to Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. Continue to Mweka Village, where a vehicle will transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi. Reflect on your incredible journey and the unforgettable achievement of conquering Kilimanjaro!
