TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Flying from Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park and Full-Day Game Drive
Your adventure begins from your hotel, where our experienced driver will pick you up and transport you to Zanzibar Airport. From there, you’ll catch a flight to Mtemere Airstrip, your gateway to Nyerere National Park.
Prepare for a full day of captivating game drives in Nyerere National Park, where a plethora of tourist attractions awaits. This vast wilderness boasts a diverse range of African treasures, including wildlife, birds, rivers, lakes, and more. Keep an eye out for elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, and a myriad of other captivating creatures.
As the day unfolds, you’ll enjoy a hearty packed lunch and some well-deserved relaxation. Then, the adventure continues with more game drives, taking you into the enchanting African wilderness until the sun sets. Finally, you’ll be escorted to Selous Safari Lodge for a delightful dinner, and a peaceful night’s sleep.
Day 2: Bushman Walking Safari + Village Tour + Sunset Boat Safari
You will wake up early for tea or coffee, then depart for guided bush walks with a bushman, an exciting chance to get close to nature and the best way to learn the details of the African bush. Walking along the firmed trail through the African bushes on foot brings about a new way of appreciating the natural environment.
You will return for breakfast. Later you’ll leave for an eye-opening cultural village tour for approximately 2 hours then you will head back to the lodge for your delicious hot lunch. You will depart for a sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River. The boat safari is a superb way to explore, watch the wildlife come to the water’s edge to drink, and get close to bird colonies, hippos, and crocodiles.
After the boat safari, you’ll be transferred back to the lodge for a beautiful and luscious dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Maasai Boma Tour and Flying to Zanzibar
Following breakfast at approximately 8 am, your designated driver will collect you for a visit to a Maasai Village. During your time at the village, you’ll delve into the intricacies of Maasai Culture for a duration of 2 to 3 hours. Subsequently, you’ll return to Selous Safari Lodge for a satisfying lunch.
Following your meal, enjoy some leisure time for relaxation. Later in the day, around 4 pm, you’ll be transported to Mtemere Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar. Upon your arrival in Zanzibar, our driver will be present to facilitate a seamless drop-off at your chosen hotel.
Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous archipelago off the coast of Tanzania, is a captivating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Known as the “Spice Island,” it boasts a rich heritage influenced by African, Arab, Indian, and European traders, evident in its architecture, cuisine, and vibrant atmosphere.
The heart of Zanzibar is Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its labyrinthine alleyways, bustling markets, and grand historical buildings. Beyond Stone Town, Zanzibar offers pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and lush spice plantations, inviting visitors to relax, explore, and immerse themselves in the island’s unique charm.
Nyerere National Park, formerly part of the Selous Game Reserve, is Tanzania’s largest national park. It’s a vast and relatively untouched wilderness known for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, wild dogs, and a large population of hippos and crocodiles in the Rufiji River. Visitors can enjoy game drives, boat safaris, and walking safaris in this remote and beautiful park.
